Our own John K. Carlson, vice president of the RRCW, and his wife, Jeannine L. Lisitski, ran and biked from Vineland to Sea Isle City—35 miles on July 31st. They did this 35 miles to commemorate Women Against Abuse’s 35 year anniversary on the 31st of July. It was an amazing feat of endurance on a sweltering hot day! They both started at Vineland High School at 7:14 am, John on foot and Jeannine on a heavy hard riding bike. Jeannine finished in 2 hours and 30 minutes. John finished in 6 hours and 24 minutes. He actually hit the ocean at 1:38 PM. John’s aid stops were at, 8, 16, 24, 27, 30 and 32 miles. Christy Beal and Sherry Hausman met John at mile 24 and cheered-him-on and encouraged him. He was supposed to stop for aid at mile 34 but he felt so good that he just kept on going right over the bidge into Sea Isle City. John’s mantra for this run was, “Make the Distance, I got the drive!” Congratulations John and Jeannine!
